The Time Lost

In this episode a German World War II pilot is transported to the D&D world and Venger plans to use him to stop the kids from entering the realm. Venger's plan was to train the pilot to use a modern plane thus Germany being the victors of World War II and resulting in the kid's never being born.

My question is how would Germany winning World War II stop the kid's parents from meeting? Would history's timeline really be that altered?

I think the implication was that the kids' parents would be dead, killed by Nazis. But even if not, yes, something of this magnitude would have a huge effect. It's highly likely my grandfathers would have both died in the war. And it's very possible that life in the US would be extremely different for everyone.

Well, the idea was that radically changing history would have changed the world so much that the kids' parents never would have met, so that the kids wouldn't have been born. Anyway, I think it's just an 80s cliche that all Hollywood fiction eventually involved fighting Nazis - remember Galactica 1980.
