I vaguely remember this show and I'm not sure if it's my fuzzy memories of it but wasn't there an episode where two bad guys are on an airplane made by Automan and he then derezzes it and they fall into blackness screaming as the plane vanishes?

It has been a long time since seeing that episode, but if I recall, they may not have been able to prosecute the bad guys, but could not let them go free. They really did appear to let them fall to their deaths.
A little surprising, considering the tone of the show, but maybe because you did not see them actually die, the writer(s) went with that ending.
