Finished M*A*S*H* several month ago, just found out about this. Confused

So I've skimmed some of the reviews and asking is there something TRULY wrong about this show? Since I'm suppose to track it down somehow which unsuitable timeslots it was broadcasted on - doesn't matter to me. Ah, Colonel Potter, he REPLACED Henry Blake whom I absolutely adored and quit watching the show for almost a year after learning of an episode title, still I can't help and love and respect the guy. I was always happy when they remembered that Father Mulcahy was actually part of their daily lives. Klinger was on the fast track to my overcrowded favorite characters list when he turned his creative energy into other means, and in addition was becoming a better person too. Sad that Winchester is probably not there, is he? But can live if Hawkeye's not there. Though I have a sinking suspicion that removed from duty and irritants his future of indulging in his favorite pastimes might not be so vibrant after a while.

My point is, I don't really mind the cast, but is the show any good? Does it treat characters alright? Should I attempt to watch it or forever leave them in my memory as they were? I just really miss it right now, and only 'Henry Leaving' episode remains.

I'm a time traveler, I point and laugh at archaeologists.

The comments or reviews about the show from other IMDb users is pretty mixed, but I liked it okay. The first season is definitely better than the second one. They made too many changes in the second season. Like the actress who played Mrs. Potter in the first season was replaced in the second one by another actress for reasons that are still unknown. Young, idealistic Dr. Pfeiffer didn't even make it a whole season without being replaced by angry, bitter Dr. Boyer. I'm guessing he was supposed to be a sort of Hawkeyeish character who spent almost every episode trying to get at least one of the nurses in bed. Of course, that was in between having to hear him whine pretty much EVERY episode about losing his leg. Too bad he wasn't there when Pete Sax came to the hospital to have some work done on his leg. He was one of a former member of the 4077th who knew Klinger and had lost his leg three days before shipping out. He had a much better attitude about it than Dr. Crybaby did. Also, Mike D'Angelo was replaced by Wally Wainwright.

The pilot episode and maybe some others are on You Tube if you want to watch it and get an ideals of what the show is like.

That's okay, I'm a veteran of second Darren Stevens, braved TV's 'Jeeves and Wooster' where in duration of 23 short episodes I'm more hard pressed to name a character, except the titular ones, in the vast rotating cast has not been played by 2-5 different actors. Not to forget 13 actors, of different takes, appearances and methods who portrayed the Doctor.

P.S. Are we sure its Mrs. Potter though? Colonel Potter and B.J. Hunnicut ARE different people, but filled the mold their predecessors left behind just beyond perfect. The writers it seems, just tweaked few morals and fixed previous mistakes for the better.

Thanks! I will try it. Any more show recommendations? :)
