No Cartoon Version?

Iā€™m surprised that there was never a cartoon version of the A-Team. After all, this was the 80ā€™s, and it seemed like everybody had a cartoon. Happy Days, Punky Brewster, even one of the actors of the A-Team itself (Mr. T) had his own cartoon!

Plus, it was the heyday of military cartoons. G.I. Joe, Rambo: Force of Freedom, Karate Komandos, they were all over the place.

Then finally, the A-Team was itself in many ways just a live action cartoon. Its very nature lent itself to the animated medium.

It would have seemed a slam dunk of an idea...

They had a Happy Days cartoon?

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

Yep. It was titled, The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang (talk about a mouth full!).

It was about The Fonz, his dog, Richie, Ralph, and a girl from the future bouncing through time trying to find their way back to the 1950's. Kind of like Quantum Leap for the kiddies. šŸ˜Š

It ran for a couple of seasons in the early 80's. Which goes to my point. If Happy Days can have an animated series spin-off, it would seem that the A-Team was custom made for just such a thing.

After the description of the Happy Days cartoon, I'm eternally grateful there wasn't an A-TEAM cartoon. Lol

Amazing. And it last a couple seasons? Better than nothing, I guess.

I think it was more popular to turn current movies into shows (Real Ghostbusters, Rambo) and older tv series (like Happy Days, Filmations Ghostbusters) into TV Shows than real life TV Shows because the kids watched those anyway. All those popular 80's show had no cartoon, be it the A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf or others.

reply

True. Airwolf was good.

Lol I never knew about a Rambo cartoon or a Mr T one! But that's your answer right there, a Mr T cartoon would have probably cancelled out an A-Team one.

reply

Thank god they didn't reduce this to a cartoon.
