HOW THIS DIDN'T GET A BEST SCREENPLAY NOD IS BEYOND ME

HOW THIS MOVIE DIDN'T GET A BEST SCREENPLAY NOD IS BEYOND ME. NOT ONLY SHOULD IT HAVE BEEN NOMINATED BUT IT SHOULD HAVE WON.

I liked the movie but a lot of people say it was missing a lot of things the novel had.

Seriously~! I'm also blow away at how many critics/general movie lovers consider this a so-so effort. What is going on? This is a Classic~!

lol nope. There's so much crucial context missing, so many important details that are barely developed/introduced way too late, and so many jarring character changes, that this would never be nominated for an Oscar. Or any major screenwriting award, for that matter. As a movie, it is DEFINITELY so-so, AT BEST. As a screenplay, and especially as an adaptation, it's fairly bad.
