Loved it,funny thing is after i finished watching ,i realised i enjoyed it even more as im thinking about it all the time -a great movie that sticks with you even though 50% is cheesy! but the other 50% delivers a strong message and violence.....flawless .

I love vigilante movies and this has to be up there with death wish,rolling thunder, death sentence,ms 45. Fred williamson is great and funny ,robert forester is superb and also don blakeley who plays the thug (prago) is haunting . Best scences for me:

1.when forester kills his first victim ,its shot in blue and looks amazing,forester shows no remorse .

2. when forseter throws prago off the building- prago- 'this dont me a thing to me' 'forster' : it does to me...

3. fred williamson in the beginning -i dont know about you ,but ive had up to here! Do it!

4. And joe spinnell taking the bribe-what a great scene and a great character actor

agree with everything you said. joe spinall's scenes were great as were all of fred williamson's scenes. a great lustig film.

I just saw VIGILANTE at the Anthology Film Atchives in NYC this weekend in a double bill with Abel Ferrara's MS.45, as part of a film retrospective of vigilante movies including DEATH WISH, MANIAC COP 1&2 and both film directors William Lustig and Abel Ferrara were at the screening, answering questions regarding both films from the audience after the movies ended. A real good time was had by all including myself.
