Is there someone out there who is capable of telling those imbeciles at Warner that we would really appreciate to be finally able to buy a Blu-ray disc of this marvellous movie? I would have bought that version five years ago without even looking at the price, but those guys seem to be totally oblivious of how many people love that film.

It's on Blu-ray in France, but is locked to Region B (not a problem for me, don't know if it is for you). The big problem is that, even if you choose the English language track, you can't turn the English subtitles off. Quite annoying.
But yeah, it should have been out on Blu-ray ages ago. The stage version is available, but the film is the one to have.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
Region B wouldn't be a problem (I'm German). I was delighted about it being on Blu-ray in France but I can't find the disk on amazon.fr. The only Blu-ray there is of the Broadway production. The movie seems to be on DVD only...and I've had that one for eight years. Just would love to switch to a higher definition.

Congratulations. But good to know that there seems to be an HD transfer that might give rise to the distributors wishing to recoup their investment by issuing a BD.

Finally, a Blu-ray! It's released in Region A, but I can confirm it's region-free. (I watched it tonight.)
The first pressing had a mastering problem, but that's been fixed. And it looks fantastic! Warner Archive releases are usually barebones, but this one has the Blake Edwards/Julie Andrews commentary track.
Highly recommended. At last!!
