Not that bad
Not the best snake movie ever, but still better than I expected. I liked the ending too. The part when the maid got bit looked pretty damn real too!

great film I like it lot
yeah its a good movie, nothing great but certainly not bad
I give it a 6/10When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...
So what would you say is the best snake movie ever? I'll have to go with "Sssssss" (seven s's, right?).
This was better than I expected, but it could have been great considering the cast. 6/10 stars.
I liked "Sssssss" too, but I think I will have to go with "Rattlers" or maybe even "King Cobra" that featured Pat Morita as the snake hunter.
shareI haven't seen "Rattlers" or "King Cobra," but there's another interesting film called "Snakes" from 1974 that's worth seeking out:

I agree. That sequence where the mamba nails Louise is one of the most gut-wrenching scenes I've ever witnessed on film. It was absolutely nerve-wracking. Here the producers did their homework well. That multiple strike scenario is exactly how a black mamba attacks and Louise's death sequence is spot-on accurate. That is exactly how you die when you're hit by that species. I've seen this film many times and it still gives me nightmares.
shareIt's not a bad movie (but not a very good one obviously). The material is elevated slightly by a great cast and a good score. I think its low IMDB score is because it is marketed as a horror film because there's a poisonous snake and people are disappointed that it's not scary at all. Really it's just a hostage thriller with a random snake.
shareSo far, this movie has my favorite cheesy death by harmless snake scene ever.

The premise was silly but the movie itself was pretty good. Good cast, good atmosphere and some great suspenseful moments. Modern movie makers could learn a thing or two from these older flicks.
