A DVD release of all three films

Would be great. I would like to see them all in a widescreen digital format.

um...did you know the AHA was denied access to monitor the making of this film and as a result horses were tripped and buffalos killed????

im sure this wasn't the only film to have that happened in. What does this have to do with wanting to see it on DVD?

reply

I agree a set of all 3 on DVD would be great!

I, too, would love to see this film released on DVD in the intended widescreen format. The problem with this series is that each film has a different owner, so an actual set by one company could never happen. Sandy Howard produced all three films, but sold the distribution rights to whatever company was interested at the time. United Artists didn't have a monumental success with "Return," and in the wake of their decline with "Heaven's Gate," didn't want to gamble on another western, let alone a third film in a somewhat popular franchise. So, Howard took "Triumphs Of A Man Called Horse" to an independent company, Jensen Farley Pictures. Jensen Farley disolved by the end of the 1980's and rights to their film catalog have since been optioned off to independent buyers. The film has been out of print on home video for over 20 years, but someone owns the rights to "Triumphs," but the question is, "whom?"

Did anyone eat the dead buffaloes? It would have been a sin to let all that perfectly good, edible meat go to waste. No kidding. That buffalo meat is worth a lot of money on the market.
