What I think about Trail

What I think is that they started filming Trail of the Pink Panther then some time during production, Sellers died.
Though the movie was RELEASED two years after he died, that doesn't mean that he wasn't alive when it was still being made. It takes some time to make a movie.

So, they start filming, get half way through, Sellers dies, they devote the last half to his character as a tribute to Sellers, it is released two years later.

As for how bad it was, it probably would have been a lot better if It had one plot. But circumstances prevented that.

As for the nudity, I was shocked, but I didn't exactly cover my eyes. Enjoyable for me, not for everybody. And a PG movie is supposed to be for just about everybody. It's not bad enough to make it Rated-X, but its too graphic to make it Rated-PG. Due to PG-13 not existing back then, they should have just left the breasts out. Bras would have been okay. That still would have delivered the joke. And if I want nudity there are plenty of outlets besides PG movies.

That is not correct, I'm sorry to say. It's veeeeery obvious that the footage of Sellers is all outtake footage as A): You can recognise the characters and setting from previous films (mostly from ...Strikes Again: The Prof. Balls scene, the lift, the drive to the airport, the airplaine scene) and B): None of the scenes seem to logically connect to each other!

the outtakes and dubbing don't depress me as much as the way the plot just suddenly falls apart (albeit necessarily) and the thing has to rely so heavily on flashbacks... i mean, it just reduces it to what really shouldn't have been released as more than a made-for-TV special... :-/

I don't even consider Trail an actual "movie". It feels like a bonus video of outtakes and deleted scenes that was somehow released into theatres.

Yep, pretty disappointing. The one thing that did crack me up was Clouseau's father's dog tugging Nana around by the dress to keep her heading in the right direction. You have to wade through a lot of chaff to get to that little bit of grain though.

The dog was cute, and Joanna Lumley's role was a rare highlight of this film. I've never been a bit Pink Panther fan, so my expectations were low, and even I found this disappointing. 4/10 stars.

According to the trivia section, they started production after Sellers had died. They used outtakes and deleted scenes from previous Panther films to make it look like he was there. This is what is called "movie magic".

lol... when this movie was made, those breasts are what made it PG instead of G! Gratuitous breast shots were basically required for a PG movie.
