The Dean at my old community college worked as a camera assistant on this film and said that Mr. Pryor was very upset when he was told that he would have to wear the pajamas you mentioned. Absolutley NO production stills were permitted to be taken and the only ones allowed on the set for those scenes were - the director, the D.P., Mr. Pryor and the unknown child actor.
He also had no knowledge of the "oatmeal in a bucket on a string over the door gag" or the bit in the beginning when he's wearing a walkman on a bicycle and nearly gets hit by a train.
Your best bet is to just forget about it and move on.
