An early but awesome heads up - the guys at www.outpost31.com have started work on a KICK-ASS surprise project for all fans to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of THE THING. The ball is rolling on this adventure! June 25th, 1982 - June 25th, 2022.

A message tonight from the man himself, John Carpenter. John has learned about our 40th Anniversary Project and is very excited. He has a message for all the fans: "Outpost #31 is my favorite fan site. Long may you live."

It sucks that there was such a negative reaction to Carpenter's movie when it was first released, but nice to know that it still has an active fanbase. Can't believe the 40th anniversary is so close.

IMDb are killing their message boards on Feb. 20th, 2017. We will lose this platform for THE THING. I looked it up. They did some special features on home media releases and will be releasing an e-book on Halloween.
