if you love 3d movies...

The Doctor's review:

If you really love 3d movies, then you will have to love "treasure of the four crowns". I"m a 3d buff and this is one of my favorites. this movie has the best opening scene of any 3d film I have seen. there is no dialoge for the first 20 minutes, which is cool because we came here to see 3d effects didn't we? the action starts right away and there is more stuff coming through the screen in the first 20 minutes in this film than most others in the movie. the only thing that distracted me was the horrible red jacket the lead actor is wearing, it just didn't fit with the scene/character. the costume department dropped the ball on this one. If there were going to "borrow" so much from "raiders of the lost ark" anyway they may as well have gone ahead and dressed the lead more "cool" to fit has badass character. that aside this movie does not disappoint for 3d effects. unlike many others, this film never seems to forget it is shot in stereo and never lets the audience forget either, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at them. it is the 3d that makes this film. without the 3d, well this is unwatchable. the plot incongruous, the acting abysmal, the budget obviously quite low(you can see the wires in some scenes, cheap sets, etc) but for my money all if forgiven and forgotten when spears, swords and all kinds of good stuff come hurling out of the screen eliciting a giant cheesy grin on my silly face. if you have the ability to see this in true 3d, do it, otherwise don't bother. if you really love 3d movies, this is for you.

I agree with almost everything you said...but I think this movie is fun even in 2-D, I wish MGM would FINALLY release it on DVD/Blu-Ray. I never got the chance to see it in 3-D but I would jump on the chance if it ever came along.

Most people just ASSUME this movie sucks so they write bad reviews without even watching it. PROOF of that is in the reveiws themselves, 90% of all the reviews claim that there are only 3 crowns in the movie with no mention of the forth crown however that couldn't be further from the truth (please see my other post titled "Treasure of the Four Crowns!! Yes 4 Crowns " that talks about all four crowns and has a link to video proof).

I agree.

Of all the "80's 3D Movies" I saw when the craze happened back then, this was BY FAR the best.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Wish MGM would release this on DVD

I wish these 3d films from the 80's would be released on bluray 3d:
Treasure of the Four Crowns, MetalStorm:The Destruction of Jared Syn, Jaws 3d, Friday the 13th 3d and the Eliminators.
I'd also love Creature From the Black Lagoon/Revenge of the Creature, It Came From OuterSpace, and GOG would also be remastered/released for Bluray 3D. The '50s had some great SciFi 3d films.

If you believe in Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it put this as your signature
