I can tell some scenes were at UCLA e.g. Kerckhoff Hall, Scuplture Garden, but I did not recognise every location.
Was the whole filming done on UCLA campus and there was such a gross change since 1982?
Or were some scenes done elsewhere.
I did not even recognise what might had been Bruin Walk.
All filming took place on UCLA. I am the person who filled out most of the information on the webpage including the errors, trivia and bios. As I noted in the trivia section where I mentioned UCLA as the filming location, it has changed tremendously so not all the locations can be ascertained. Filming occurred in 1981. Shortly thereafter major renovations occurred for the Olympics which is why Drake Track and Field looks so rundown in the movie yet was so different just 2 years later. The Men and Women's Gyms looked almost like mirror images of one another the Men's Gym went through more extensive renovations than the Dance Building so looks much different especially the pool.
The classroom scene, at least the arches where Susan and Nancy are walking, was at Royce Hall. The pool was probably North Pool in the Dance Building though the pool in the Men's Gymnasium at the time of filming was similar so it could have been the North Pool. The patio outside of Kerckhoff Hall is featured prominently. Due to considerable renovations to residence halls including demolition of the original grad student dorm (which most likely was the location of the single occupancy rooms) it is difficult to ascertain the exact dorms used. The dorms all had their rounded features changed.
