Good Movie

I always thought this was a good movie. Not the best movie of its kind, but still very enjoyable. In my opinion, it was the late Ronald Lacey that made this movie well worth watching.

I agree. :) Connery was great as the Green Knight, and O'Keefe is always <3. :D

Wow the hate for this movie is crazy. As a kid I LOVED this movie. The quest. The riddle. The beautiful maiden. The Music Score! The comradery of friends and 'One last good fight'. And finally the puzzling and sad end. As an adult I of course see all the problems the movie has. Electronic theme, cheap sets, a few bad actors, etc... But I still love it for all the reasons above. It truly is one of my favorite movies. I'm sorry people hate it so much, but Im still glad that kid saw it on a saturday afternoon all those years ago.

Yeah if it isn't jammed full of cheesy cgi people these days won't like it.

Plotholes are like Bigfoot, people who claim to see them are just trying to stir things up.

Thanks for this reply! I am 5 years late but hoping you still see this. I still say "One Last Good Fight" at weird times with my friends. 20 some years later. I still really like the crappy soundtrack also. Like you say:

The quest.
The riddle.
The Maiden.
The Music.
and:
The opening scene when the green knight first shows up with his challenge.
The friendships in the movie.
Lynette
The evil Green Knight is SEAN F'ING CONNERY!
The 'One last good fight' scene.
So much more. Just something magic about this flick.

Odd, I don't find the soundtrack crappy at all, I really like it.

You're kidding... right?

I would like this movie if it was more true to the Arthurian legend

I've got an idea for my next book "Roy O'Bannon vs. the Little Lord Sissy"

I would have liked this movie if it weren't so poorly shot, directed, and scored.

I agree it was/is a good movie. Not accurate to the period when it's set but very few movies about the time when king Arthur and his knights are said to have lived are accurate. For example knights back then would have been in boiled leather armor or at most chain mail not full plate. That really came into its own round 1600 and went out shortly there after (aside from ceremonial use) due to the invention of fire arms. For it to be bullet proof it'd have to be too thick and heavy for a man to wear.

reply

It's a fantasy movie not a historical movie. The armour by Terry English looks great anyway.

Always have liked this movie.
