I'd love to see a rescan of this film, like they did with conan

What I would love to see from this film more than anything, is a DVD/Blu ray rescanned from the original footage. They've managed to do this with Conan (same time, same studio) which enhanced the watchability of that film immensely - it made it a whole new experience for me.

I think it's a real let down that The Sword and the Sorcerer DVD is a direct low resolution transfer from the VHS version, which itself was just an out-of-focus video capture from screen.

This is a great classic film and deserves to be re-released with quality.

I know i'd buy it in a heartbeat, and you just have to look at the comparative number of postings and views on imdb to see you've got an active fanbase for this film 30 years on...
