OK, that ticks me off! (Spoilers)
Elizabeth. Cromwell's loyal slave girl.
She's cute and she's likeable. And they just kill her off! Just as she was getting interesting.
I've been racking my brain as to why this part bothers me, and here's what I've come up with. First, they could've done a lot more with Elizabeth. Although none of the characters were very deep, she gets a little bit more to work with. She's Cromwell's own personal harem, and while she acts like she's completely loyal to him, you can tell she hates him. Also, they never officially said what happened to the little girl Cromwell abducted in the beginning. So she could be Talon's sister like I've been hearing on some of the message boards.
Second, her death is too random. After Talon is captured, she offers to lead some soldiers into the dungeon to get him, because she knows the dungeons and she has a crush on Talon (a Princess Leia moment, perhaps?). After some arguing, the soldiers agree. So they're going back into the dungeon? Wow, that sounds exciting! But the very next scene is everyone locked up in the dungeon. Wow, that was a real letdown. They don't even show Elizabeth being interrogated. They just drag her into the dungeon and show that they cut out her tongue. The torturer then threatens to kill her slowly, unless the soldiers tell her what he wants to know. Elizabeth saves herself the slow and painful death and just stabs herself in the stomach with the torturer's knife. So basically, they set up for an adventure into the dungeons, and then just kill Elizabeth off. How random is that? On the plus side, she is avenged a few scenes later by her friend, Morgan, but I still wished she'd lived.
Wow, I actually feel a lot better after getting all that out.
Brother Maynard, bring forth the holy hand grenade!
