Need help from all you fantasy movie buffs.

I'm looking for a movie I saw as a young'un. Late seventies, possibly early eighties. I THINK it's this one, but can't find conclusive proof.

Two characters are being chased through caves (or maybe it's on a mountainside?) by some humanoid monster. It falls into a pit, screams a long time, then after a pause, you hear it take a deep breath and scream again before the 'THUD' of it hitting the bottom.

If it's not this one, can anyone help me out with which movie it is?

Thanks in advance.

If I've said something that offends you in my post, you'll just have to deal with that.

How about...Yor, hunter from the future. If not, watch it anyway, it's awesome.

You may be thinking of a Ridley Scott movie called Legend. It was on cable often back in the 90s.

Yeah that sounds like Legend.

Snakes....I hate snakes

Curious. I've watched a lot of fantasy-genre movies, and The Sword and the Sorcerer was a VHS-rental era favourite of mine, but the first (and only) time I recall seeing a "falling for so long you run out of scream and have enough time to draw breath and start screaming for a second time" gag was in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, nearly a decade after this film.

I recall thinking that gag was a really fresh one when I saw Bogus Journey (1991) - I'd never seen it done in a live-action film before - so it's interesting that you reckon it had already been done in an earlier film, and a fantasy film at that.

It must be one I haven't seen, then! Could it possibly have been a TV series, or a TV movie, rather than a "proper" (i.e. theatrically-released) film?
