Any good?

1980s horror schlock is right up my alley. While I love the classics, I also really enjoy this kind of stuff. Haunted houses, witches, curses, slashers, general splatter films. By all the descriptive info I've read on this movie, it sounds like something I'd enjoy, but I'd like some perspectives from other horror fans before I shell out $25 for a used copy of it on Amazon. I'd actually never even heard of it until I was browsing Anchor Bay's back catalogue of horror films from the '70s and '80s. This one caught my eye and I've been wondering about it.

Not really, but the actress Maylo McCaslin worked those tiny outfits, mostly booty shorts.

Superstition is good if you're into 80s splatter flicks. The first time I saw it was via a rented video, years back. It was a big success for the UK video company, VTC, at that time. I bought the Momentum DVD a few years ago, and still occasionally watch it.

I watched it last night -- it's on Cinemax so you can get it on demand.

It's pretty good, if you're into this kind of thing. The first few kills are excellent -- but unfortunately the movie tones down the kills as the film progresses. Many of them occur offscreen until the "staking scene". The ending also has some great atmosphere when the witch reveals herself.

The film is actually well written and acted for a slasher film and has a mythology that follows its own rules.

There are some things that stick out -- like why everyone seems content to hang around when all these people are dying and/or disappearing.

But overall it's an underrated gem of the genre. Check it out!

If you like low budget (slightly cheesy) 80s horror movies with graphic/cool kill scenes then most definitely. A fun movie.

If you're wanting something like The Exorcist, The Thing or Rosemary's Baby then probably not. This is definitely a 'B-movie'.
