I'm pretty shocked that with all the crap that makes it to DVD a fairly well reviewed thrillers tarring Meryl hasn't yet...

Well, maybe that's because it's such a bad movie, and Streep is dreadful in it (not that she can act). I mean you could drive a 747 through the plot holes in this one!

I agree with Scott. It's not that good of a movie but seeing Roy Scheider in anything is worth it. Frankly I thought this was one of Meryl Streep's lesser performances (of a very few she has ever given). I don't really blame her as I do Robert Benton's script which doesn't give the film time to develop the characters. The mystery is whether Streep is the killer or not but we aren't given any reasons to believe one way or the other. Sure little clues are left like the newspaper clippings but it seemed forced. Plus it didn't help that Scheider and Streep had little chemistry. I love both actors but not here.
