I have such memories of this being as series in swedish television SVT but I'm not sure.

I am still clinging on to the image of the girl who looks just like Jo on the poster. And the name "star struck".

Anyone?

You might be thinking of Sweet and Sour with Tracey Mann. It was on the afternoons after school, I loved that series. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088212/

Yes! Sweet and Sour! I still have the soundtrack on cassette. Loved it!
