Just rewatched this and Sporks death still choked me up.

Local theater was showing this as part of their "retro" series.

It really is space opera at its best. Diabolical villain, memorable lines, great space battles and a powerful ending! Funny how I almost teared up at the end, even though I know Spock gets revived in the next movie.
