Kirk's words for Spock's funeral...

On the surface they seem inspired and moving but weren't they really an insult? Spock always looked down on his human side and always criticized the humans for their lack of logic and emotional ways. He always took any comments from Kirk that he was acting human as an insult.

Spock was often conflicted between his logical Vulcan side and the emotional human side of his being, but he never showed revulsion at being half human.

Kirk was referring to the positive aspects of humanity... It's not an insult to say a Vulcan has empathy for others to which Kirk was referring. Even Spock admitted feeling empathy several times during the TV series.
