It always struck me as odd that the radiation killed Spock yet his uniform was in tact.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.
I know but this is a message board films....just saying
shareRadiation causes more damage to organic flesh than it does to fabric or inorganic materials. Radiation is just "particles", but the particles can pass through regular material, or be absorbed by the material without damaging it, while they will damage living cells they come in contact with. In fact, once clothing becomes irradiated, it can and will remain a danger to the wearer even when removed from the radioactive environment.
