Let me get this straight...

I know, which is why I think Fulci's zombie flicks are better and more enjoyable that this one.

New York Ripper tries to be realistic - and when it does, such as when the psychologist explains the killer's motivation, etc. - the result is unintentional comedy, because it's so absurd.

Still a good flick though.

It depends on how you look at things. I for one love this film *BECAUSE* it's so extreme and uncompromising. It's plain to see that Fulci had serious issues with women, and it's obvious he used T.N.Y.R. as a way of venting his anger. The least you can give this movie is that it's very sincere on many levels. The average stupid 'horror fan' may only appreciate this film because of the bloodshed, but I'm sure anyone with analytical tendencies can read into it further on a broader level. The way i see it, Fulci - aware of it or not - crafted a searing reflection of the human condition with this movie. Once you get past the awkward dubbing/acting/plot/etc., T.N.Y.R. turns into a seriously dark affair. It's damn apocalyptic.

I see the film as Misanthropic and Nihilistic rather then Misogynistic.

Incredible_Brightness....... This is why feminists shouldn't be watching old school classic horror, these films are not made for you lol.

Take that back Texas, Maniac is way more boring that T.N.Y.R.
This film has higher rating because more people like it than Maniac.I suggest you deal with it.
