I don't think that it is clear anywhere in the film how did Sophie manage to survive Auschwitz. Do you have any idea?
shareShe was useful enough that they kept her alive for the time being and Auschwitz was eventually liberated by the Russians.
shareHer time spent working for the Commandant bought her a lot of time, survival wise. They were treated much better than the rest of the prisoners. Also in the book I seem to remember afterwards she worked in the offices of Auschwitz (due to her skill with languages) so had an advantage there too.

Depending on which numbers you look at anywhere from 20-70k or more prisoners in Auschwitz lived through the end of the war. The numbers are somewhat murky.
