Remake Script

I started writing a remake of this movie when I was 16, and recently decided to finish it after rewatching the original. The original isn’t even a fave slasher movie of mine, but i wanted to write my own, updated version of it. New characters, same basic storyline, revamped Russ Thorn. No denim, more backstory. Appropriate ‘80s references and synthy soundtrack to go along with it. I was going to post a dream cast, but if any of you care enough, it’s a lot more fun if you make up your own. Would be awesome to get feedback from fans of the original. 

SPM is my all-time fav slasher, so I actually read it this afternoon when I was bored. I was totally expecting it to be complete crap, but I really liked it! I love that you kept little nods to the original, and I like you gave Russ some backstory. The thorn symbol was a nice touch.

I imagine you plan on writing a sequel? ;)



Thank you! And no, not really. I just liked the idea of keeping it open-ended. But if I thought of the right story, I'd definitely do it. 
