Robert Folk's music score is brilliant.

Seriously, the only good thing about this film. It's one of the best scores I've ever heard in a horror film. So sweeping, thematic and with a killer main theme. How has this NOT been released yet?

yeah i agree the score is truly amazing. i wish it would be released, but since the film is very underrated, i don't expect there to be any release of a soundtrack

I noticed; and expertly sequenced with the events of the film.

Damn. I missed this. I will watch it tomorrow. Movie sounds like crap but Robert Folk is always impressive.

I suppose it could be classified as an early slasher flick (shot in 1981), but it's more accurately a mystery-horror with haunting remote island ambiance, sort of like "The Shuttered Room," but mixed with elements of moody coastal horror, such as "The Fog." ("I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" took the stormy island setting to forge a more conventional slasher).

The filmmaking is top-notch for the time period, including the superb score. Carol Kottenbrook as Brooke is a highlight, lookin' good in tight jeans. Sarah Kendall shows her acting chops as the haunted protagonist. Meanwhile the titular character is diabolically hideous, but you barely get to see him. Yet there's a twist and, even then, the movie's an enigma wrapped in a riddle.

Watchable... Didn't do much for me. Nicely made but without terribly interesting characters and requiring the twist ending because nothing actually made sense. And even if there was an album, the score would be five or six places down on my list of favorite Robert Folk scores.
