SPOILER: Charges against Alvie & Boots

I know in the movie they say they've got them for kidnapping but I don't see how that is possible. The priest can vouch for the fact that they were there voluntarily and if the mother were to come out and publicly thanked them for bringing her daughter home, the charges would go away.

Obviously they've got them for prison break and the illegal (unloaded) gun so there's no way to get around that.
