wandering thoughts

This film is quite simply the greatest film i've ever seen, more than that it is the greatest artwork in any medium i have ever seen, and it has affected me more deeply and profoundly then any piece of art i could name. Even the recent francis bacon exhibition which left me terrified for days can't compare to this. I find my mind wanders to images and lines from the narration whenever i'm not thinking of anything in particular, when i dream my mind conjures up images from 'the zone'.
i've seen it about 8 times within the space of a few months and each time i still find new things to meditate on. To see it only once would i feel be an injustice as there is so much information to take in it can be overwhelming to try and follow all marker's disparate thoughts in one sitting. more than any other film it demands repeat viewings.
Although i was impressed with 'la jetee' it was this film that has led me to seek out as much of marker's work as possible and whilst none of the films i have seen can really compare to the power of 'sans soleil', they are all fascinating, and i'm really upset that so much of his work is totally unavailable.
It's a shame so few people seem to have seen this film, and even more of a shame that i'll probably never get the chance to see it on the big screen, where i can only imagine it's power is amplified tenfold. ah well, i'm happy enough just to have seen it and i really do feel my life is improved for having done so.
Thanks Chris...
