Many, many thanks for the heads-up! I was seriously considering buying an old VHS copy of this film just now, but then I noticed your post. Looks like May 28th is the release date. I'll be getting a copy!

Great news,I loved the film,it was a bit annoying at times but it was great fun,Tom Conti was great but KELLY MCGILLIS was just amazing,so sad her career did not last long (but hopefully she is happy now).
But I don't do BLU RAY (it is a con like 3 d films and voting for Nick Clegg)so it is on dvd as well?

Got the blu-ray today and watched it tonight. It was just as I remembered: funny, moving, charming, intelligent. Conti's performance is right up there with the best I've ever seen. Kelly McGillis is superb too.
It's great that distributors like Olive Films, Shout Factory and Twilight Time are bringing some forgotten gems to dvd and blu. I hadn't seen RR since the late 80s, and recently watched Trust, A New Leaf, and The Unbelievable Truth

I watched this cold last night. I read a review of the Bluray a few months ago and ordered it on a whim. I am a fan of films and books, even real life tales, of drunken womanizing writers.

I thought this film was fantastic and I am going to order the book right now. I found the ending so poignant, a great metaphor for life.

Just a moving experience for me.

Glad you enjoyed it peddler. It's one of my favorites, and for a while I thought it would never make it to dvd or blu-ray.

Hey there, peddlerwhospoke, could you provide a list of some of your favourite works about drunken, womanizing writers?
