I wish I hadn't read the plot summary

What a drag...Can anyone update it so other newcomers won't be spoiled?

reply

Yes. Please. It contains a HUGE spoiler.

I see now there's a spoiler warning, and you have to click further to read that summary.

I've noticed quite often that these plot summaries contain spoilers. Honestly, I'm not sure if that's a bad thing because it is a summary, not a teaser, after all. I generally don't read the summaries until after I've seen a film, just to check if there was something I missed. But I understand why people would use the summaries to decide if they want to see a film.

it would be cool if the plot summaries were entirely hidden behind a link, and a film's main page displayed a statement of premise like what usually appears in the first paragraph on the back of American DVD cases

Good point. Or maybe they could use that spoiler format where you have to put your mouse over the text to read it.

it would make way too much sense to use existing technology for its intended purpose. we'd better form a committee to look into the matter and see if we can devise a solution that is crappy to use, but inclusive of everyone's ideas so that nobody has to feel insignificant or under-appreciated

Yea at times that is a shame.. I hope it didn't ruin the film for you! Because in the end I'm quite sure none of us (who have seen this film) watches films just because of the ending. I didn't know much of this film when I saw this, except a lot of Kieslowski of course. But usually I read a bunch of reviews, studies and articles about films before I watch them. Knowing what will happen doesn't bother me at all with films like these. Mainstream cinema is a whole new ballgame when the entire film leans of the plot..

the 2nd plot summary line currently on the film's main page totally gives away the main concept of the film, which I think would be better for people to discover by watching it
