There's a lot of things removed that could/should go back in.
What other things could go back in?
I agree that the "Pizza Hut" edit should be reinstated. But what other things do you think should be put back in? What other things
are there to put back in? I would love to see more. The only stuff I know of is stuff from the script.
Probably the last chance to get any actual Collector's Edition will be as a tie-in to the release of the upcoming remake.
I suppose that means a 35th Anniversary is unlikely then..?
Only problem is that outside of fans, no one wants to deal with it anymore. The controversy over who actually directed the movie, the half-assed attempt to release a 25th Anniversary dvd/bluray, and the cast and crew not wanting to waste time remembering the making of it.
I suppose the "curse" and deaths surrounding the series could also be to blame.
But despite everything we've said, isn't it foolish and unprofessional to handle such a classic film in this way? I mean, this isn't some obscure cult classic like
Night of Dark Shadows or something.
The Exorcist received a 25th Anniversary Special Edition way back in 1998, and then it got another two releases after that, I believe. There's no reason why this film shouldn't get similar treatment. And if we know companies the way we think we do, they like to milk. Why stop milking? It's money. It's a classic. There will be buyers.
No doubt that the Hooper/Spielberg confusion is at play here. But it's still time to just give us the goods. Couldn't we start a petition? Someone should start one while 2017 is still two years away.
I'm not a control freak, I just like things my way
