That is only in the uncut version they started tearing at his body, and later you see his shredded corspe in the snow from a helicopter pilot's point of view.
shareI saw the so-called uncut version on YouTube and it didn't show them beginning to eat him, just walking offscreen in the direction of his body. Is there additional material I haven't seen?

I've never seen a scene with the dogs making a start on the body... just the "implied" scene described above by grrdevin followed by the helicopter's perspective of the torn body. I don't think a scene with the dogs actually eating the body was made. Somehow it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the movie at all.
Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong though.
