Blue beverage

What is it that Frederick and the Pirate King, Frederick and Mabel are drinking? It is blue in a martini glass with a lemon slice. I always wondered what the heck it was so I could order it.

There is a drink called a "Blue Mother *beep* that is basically a Long Island Iced Tea with blue curaco in it instead of triple sec. That is the only thing that I can think of. There are some mixed drink websites that you can search by ingredient and blue curaco is the only thing I know of that will give that color. Good luck!

reply

We thought it was Windex with lemon slices...

reply

ROTFL! That would cause a serious stomach problem in the middle of a sword fight! :D

reply

Blue Curacao will make you pee blue

reply

LOL.

There is a new blue raspberry vodka that is that color blue. I know it isn't the same beverage as in the film, but the spirit is the same! :D

What's....this....ruckus?

reply

Anyone else have ideas? The Windex one was very convincing.
Was Koolaid around back then? How about Blue Raspberry Koolaid and vodka.

Yes. Kool-Aid was introduced in 1927.
That makes it one of the few things that has been around longer than I have.

I remember when Cleopatra went to the Temple of Ra to lead a few cheers.

I always thought that it was blue kool-aid, but I was also very niave as a child.
It could just be water with blue food coloring in it ...

reply

I always assumed it was a Blue Hawaii. It's the most famous of the blue cocktails, you know.

reply

No one else thought blue cream soda? That was my only idea as a kid other than windex.

It looks like a coctail called a 'Blue Lagoon', which can be made with Vodka, blue Curaçao and lime, lemon or pineapple juice.

reply

Looked like a Blue Lagoon to me. Personally, I like both lemon and pineapple in it. I have a suspicion that lime would be nice.

That's probably what it was. It makes sense because Christoper Atkins was in a movie of the same name and it was probably an inside joke.
