I grew up watching this film and loved it.When i showed it to my wife she just laughed and wouldnt watch it.I felt like my god am I the only person who loved this film? Glad to see there are other,even if we are scattered around the world.Not one for happy ending bu this just seems right when I hear that song.Til we met again fans of The Pirate movie.

I remember going to a drive-in (that's no longer there) to see this with my older brother, his girlfriend and my older sister back in 1982 when I was 7 years old. Loved it then and I still love this movie. Classic Australian cinema.

I loved this movie when I was a kid...love it still.
I think it may have been what triggered my love of pirates and heavy metal. The first song "Victory" is such a cheesy power pop/metal song it's crazy. And I love it! haha

When I made my husband watch this with me a few years ago, he thought I was nuts. My sister and I used to watch this movie over and over again as kids. I think we watched it every single day for an entire summer. Of course, we didn't get half the jokes at the time. It's still one of our guilty pleasures as adults, though!! It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
shareMy sister and I also watched it constantly! At one point, we could recite the lines word for word without the movie even being on! This movie has become a family tradition, as we have my 5 and 6 year old nieces watching it! (They love the music) Unfortunately, my 16 year old daughter has not caught on to loving this movie as much as the rest of us do!
shareLOL I just had to rewatch this movie for the umpteenth time, my kids love it,I think the first time I showed it to them was about 10 years ago .they are 11 12 &14 now. Its not even a good copy I taped it off tv in the 80s. love the old comercials
