Too fast! Too quick! Too sweet!

The Godfather and Lord of the Rings, eat your heart out! Step aside Indiana Jones and Star Wars! It's all about the Penitentiary trilogy! All three films are classic pieces of cinematic art! Anyone who can't see the poetry behind those pictures has my sympathy. All three movies should have won an Oscar for every category.

Too Sweet! Too Sweet! Too Sweet! Too Sweet! Too Sweet!

I believe in miracles! I believe in America! I believe in Too Sweet! I believe in Motherhood! I believe in Apple Pie!

I DO believe! I DO Believe! I do! I do! I do! I do I say I *DO* believe!

The original poster, was trying to be a comedian ? Right ?

He made it seem like 1 of the actors from this series got oscars or this movie is so amazing people are petitioning for a blu-ray release.

When I saw parts 1-2, haven't seen the 3rd...I did feel like I lost some brain cells. I felt definitely less and less intelligent.

I mean shi= Beavis and Butthead, South Park or even I'm Gonna Git You Sucka could never affect me like these 2 did. Those were classics, cult classics and most likely will get better releases than dvd.

I mean seriously, Ernie Hudson - Suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkka !! Was that his ONLY dialogue ?? This movie was meant to be comedy.

Last Note, I never saw prison movies that were so real, so uninhibited that I saw shi5 stains in the clothes of the inmates in this movie. I know those were NOT fake.

What is "amazing" is how completely different each film in the series is, considering all 3 had the same director. "Penitentiary" (1979) is truly a great prison movie/boxing movie. It's packed with sharp dialogue, awesome camera work and editing, comedy that is truly funny and it has real character development; it even has some real emotional dramatic moments that are very sincere. But "Penitentiary 2" is a complete piece of crap. It wasn't even funny; it was actually depressingly bad. And lastly, "Penitentiary 3," which is an exercise in surreal weirdness that is actually a lot of fun to watch, and undeniably entertaining stuff. Of course it isn't technically a "good film" like the original movie, but it is a worthy exploitation film that is, sadly, not available on dvd, due to copyright issues. But P2 prevents this from being a "Great Trilogy.."
