Where's the male nudity?

From what I hear, this movie was supposed to be highly-publicized for it's full frontal male nudity. The only glimpses of it I saw were quick bits underwater. And the chick is full-frontal all the time. I'm not complaining either way. I just think it's weird that it's okay for a chick to be naked, but not a guy.

You right. But a girl frontal shows almost nothing... I mean she doesn't show her genitals, a guy does! Maybe, that's why the movie is a bit puritan on the male nudity.

For Male nudity, you should see 'Women in Love'

reply

Why is that so weird? You must not see many movies, because it goes on all the time, in like 90% of movies.

reply

I agree that in a female frontal nude scene there is less to see, no genitals. What's the big deal if this movie had more female nudity?

reply

besides, girls look much better naked. Especially those that look like Phoebe Cates.

dam right.

I haven't found it unedited on dvd. I did get a copy of a vcd that leaves it in but it was released by a Hong Kong company and there's no way to remove the chinese subtitles.

If you want male nudity, especially standing to attention, and you don't like porn, you'll probably have to check out European movies. Catherine Brillat's films (A ma soeur, Romance, Anatomy of Hell) can usually be relied upon to display gentlemen's trouser equipment in full working order. Intimacy (Patrice Chereau) has the same, although, as I've said before, Mark Rylance's sub-navel bits and pieces aren't much to write home about. But your best bet is 9 Songs, the latest film by Michael Winterbottom. There's a pork sword in that that will make your eyes water.

You must never have heard of or seen Willie Aames' take on Nastassia Kinski's
poster size portrait with a snake. Showed as much as hers did (that's nothing,
really) but she really does give it a lot more impact than he does.

You are thinking of Christopher Atkins who did the male parody of the Kinski poster, not Willie Aames. And as for the message that insists "everyone" would rather see Phoebe Cates nude than Willie Aames, you would probably find quite a lot of girls (and even a few guys) strongly disagreeing with that!
