Others in the Series?

What were the other films shown in this First Loves series? I remember one about a girl from Liverpool working as a maid? in a seaside resort hotel.

The brain doesn't work so well 26 years later...

From Screenonline
"... Early Channel 4 drama productions included the David Puttnam-produced First Love series (P'Tang Yang Kipperbang, 1982; Those Glory Glory Days, 1983), though the Willy Russell-scripted One Summer (1983) was marred by controversy when the writer removed his name from the credits in protest at the casting."

Think One Summer was the one about the girl from Liverpool.

One Summer was about two lads from Liverpool who run away from home to live in north Wales, I think they were called Billy and Icky. Billy was the good looking one and Icky was a bit simple. Billy met some posh girl and they ended up living in a cottage owned by an Englishman who turned out to be gay. I can remember a scene when some Welsh Nats turned up to graffitti the cottage. I seem to recall it ended when Icky fell off a bridge or something. Had a very good theme tune played on the harmonica.

One Summer is available on dvd. The gay man was acted by James Haseltine who was later in Londons Burning.
Part of One Summer was filmed in Llangynog and Llandrillo, North Wales but the boys came from Liverpool.

Looks like you may not be posting here anymore but in case you are still around - and for others who may come across this thread - the film that you are talking about is "Experience Preferred... But Not Essential". Sadly it does not look like it is on DVD at this time but maybe one day.

I'll make a good Gordon, Gordon!
