i worked for a short time on this film.......could have been one of the best films to come out of zoetrobe, but francis' behavior sunk everything.....his ego/manic depressive actions turned everything to glue........wonderful, talented people wasted at his command........jack

Jack: You guys made a great, great movie. You should be proud. I know and have known many people who thought One From the Heart was one of the most unique film experiences they had ever had. We saw it LOTS of times.

Hey, Jack...I worked on this piece of disposable celluloid, too! Coppola ruined it! What kind of 'director' sits OUTside, in a trailer, watching the actors on a monitor...and then gives them 'direction' over a loud-speaker!?
No Wonder I left the Biz!

Watching the making of documentary to me it looks like Coppola was sold on a technology that really hadn't been very well implemented on the set. A lot of computer types that I grew up thought that computers could do everything, and subconsciously thought they should do everything. The ability to record things digitally misled the creative powers that this meant the director didn't need to be on the set. Untrue of course, but there you have it.

Still, for all that, I did enjoy the film and thought it was an exceptional piece of film making.
