How Old Was Paula supposed to be in this?

When she was in bed with Zack during the "love making scene" She made a comment that her mother was 39 and still working in the factory...39?? Even if Paulas mom had her at 18 that would make paula 21? I believe Debra winger was 27 when she did An Officer And A Gentleman and truthfully The character she plays reminds me of a 27 year old, Which would have made Paulas Mom 12 when she had paula...Yikes.

Hey lol ...Yeah I don't remember them ever saying her age. But Both the Characters of Zack and Paula just seemed older than 19 or 20. Actually everyone did to me in the movie. Maybe people just looked older in the 80s.

I think 20/21 was supposed to be the age of the women. You figure that Zack just graduated college (21/22) and joined the Navy to become an officer. The actors looked a little older than what they were playing but I can look past that because the performances are pretty damn good.
