I've seen a few different DVD copies of this floating around the internet. Which one for region 1 is the best one to get? Best quality, uncut, etc...

shareGet the Danish region 2 DVD from another world entertainment (AWE), it is uncut and in restored widescreen, and has plenty of extras (interview with Enzo G. Castellari among other things).

shareWell I don't know about that specific release, but the Danish/Scandinavian Region 2 DVD from Another World Entertainment is definently Uncut and in the proper widescreen format with a very nice and sharp transfer. (The New Barbarians)
I first encountered this movie when I bought that horrible Westlake $1 DVD a few years ago.. NOT recommended. It was grainy, cropped, and was just plain awful (like most of their releases). It was under the name of "Warriors of the Wasteland" it got released.
Based on your comments, I imagine the Danish/Scandinavian disc and the Region 1 Media Blasters disc come from the same source, as they are both nice-looking widescreen transfers that carry the "New Barbarians" title. So, both are most likely uncut.
Oh, and yes, I've seen the "Warriors of the Wasteland" cut on several cheap DVD sets (I think I have it in one of those 50-movie sets) and it's an AWFUL print...

That's what I ended up getting and I'm very happy with it.
Just purchased a copy of the PA set (thanks for the heads-up). I also have a one-dollar copy by Digiview Entertainment in a slim DVD case (FS, 87 minutes, mediocre quality). And an original Thorn-EMI Beta copy which is the full-length.
