My favourite quote is when Chuck (Henry Winkler) turns up for work and Leonhard is watching and laughing at "The Flinstones", then he gets up and says

"Barney Rubble, what an actor"

What do you think?

reply

my parents quote that ALL.THE.TIME!

i like at the end when the mean club owner is talking to chuck, and says about billy blaze, "he couldn't find his a**hole w/ a funnel!"

There are many classic quotes in this movie, most from Michael Keaton:

"Is this a great country or what?"
"Call Star Kist"
"They barred me! Can you believe it? So I just threw my complimentary drink into his fat face" (I love that line--not sure why really)
"Hey kid, do you like music? Na na na-na-na-na-na [to Jumpin Jack Flash]"
"Trim that!"

so many more!

..well how abt the little "nursery-rhyme" style speech by "Lupe"...:
"..U take us off the city streets, and give us nicer mens to meet./We have furs and jewels and nicer dresses to wear, and we even go to Vidal Sasoon's to fix up our hair!/..We moved to nicer appartment houses..instead of living with the rattones and the mouses../..Because of u,our joy is jumping,'cause we're at this party, instead of humping..!"
...and "Bill's" "heart-to-heart" to "Chuck" n "Bellinda" abt his dad leaving home when he was 13 :"..he told me 'n my mom that we were too ugly to look at...-my case,he was wrong" lol

...one of the best comedies ever....great script,great lines,great characters,great acting,directing blahblahblah...
..N as for those that do not think the same...first they should try find their .ass with a funnel :P

reply

I fully agree. This is a well-written comedy - the timing is perfect, dialogues are on the mark, characters are like-able, and the music is outstanding.
I actually think it should be regarded as a holiday film because most of it does take place around December and it sure beats the syrupy holiday garbage on elsewhere.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE !!

so many great lines in this moview - a couple of my favorites:

when billy blaze has chuck in his pimped out car and a police cruiser is driving along side them. billy is telling check about the tinted windows, and billy yells out toward the cop.
"hey we're smokin' pot and we got teenage girls in here"

"chuck - hold the phone"

"lovebrokers...."

CHUCK: "The music, can you turn it down?"
BILLY: "Sure! I can turn it up, I can turn it down, I can make it reverberate ..."

I haven't seen this movie in 25 years. I need to see it again. There is one line that has stuck with me forever though. I can't quote it but it had something to do with one guy saying a girl gave him a boner and the other guy he is with says he isn't into cleaning fish. (a boner is a knife you use to clean fish, lol)
