Not an important detail but it is something that I would like to know. The liquor bottles in Alan Swan's suitcase and even his little hold out bottle are a very distinctive shape. I assume that it is either a high class brand of whisky or brandy. Does anyone know what brand of alcohol this was?

I must respectfully disagree. This film is my absolute favourite, and my wife and I have lost count of how many times we’ve watched it. I am reasonably sure the bottles Mr O’Toole holds are Remy Martin cognac.

shareYup, Swanny definitely was drinking Haig Dimple. This is one of my favourite films & Haig dimple is one of the finest blended whiskey you could ever sample. I have to agree that Peter O'Toole was totally matched in the acting stakes by Joseph Bplogna.
