What [do you think] happened Trevor?

Hey,
Just watched this film and I got really ticked off by the abrupt ending.
Does anyone know what happened to Trevor in life(like if there was a book or something)
And if not, what do you think happened him?
Cheers,
-Tim

PS Don't get me wrong, it was a good film, Tim Roth's performance was amazing.

He goes to prison mate.

Bit of a boring tale.
Fantastic film though.

He got put in jail for awhile just like the man at the retention center said he would earlier in the film. The ending was quite abrupt too...

I know this is an ancient post but thought you might be interested to know the ending of the film isn't the actual ending, the script has another scene afterwards where he's in the place for young offenders (there's a picture from that scene on the back of the box depending on which version you've got). It's a pretty rubbish scene in the script so that's probably why they took it out, anyway he's in the place and they're being ordered to dig in the garden, and Trevor starts saying something about how people won't be able to keep him down (or young people in general, can't remember), and then he gets really enthusiastic about digging, or something like that. I haven't read it for years so I've probably remembered it a bit wrong.

reply

yeah i saw the pic on the back off a box, hes in drab green and looks like errol is standing next to him in same drab green prison uniform

reply

Yeah that's the one, I haven't got my copy any more but I didn't notice Errol in the picture, don't think he's mentioned in the script in that scene. But I think they took it out because the film ending in the police cell makes more sense really, because that's the end of Trevor's story.

reply

im suprized in the DVD age that they havent added it as an extra scene

I heard Alan Clarke speaking about Trevor and predicited who would of become an 80s city wide boy and done quite well for himself.

reply

i think he kills that prick police officer from the last scene the next time that guy enters his cell (it's what i like to imagine)

from there he probably goes to prison or something but as trev would say... great!

out of curiosity, and these are sincere questions and not meant sarcastically, how old were you when you said that? have you seen the movie again since then? is your opinion of the police officer still the same?

Think the idea is that he gets caught up in that cycle of crime, dole, and prison that the bloke described on the blackboard earlier on.

Who knows, he might have ended up like one of the kids from Scum???

reply

i agree wid cap i think he wud ov lived the majority of his life in prison aboard the magic roundabout
ROUND AND ROUND YOU GO

reply

I generally think the ending is good it shows trevor just as he's about to start the cycle which was shown to him on the blackboard in the assesment centre earlier on in the film. The rest of the story was explained then: he goes prison, gets out, no job, gets dole, back to thieving and back to prison.

That ending works best because the film was about him getting all these second chances and help off people to not get onto that track and it ends with him crossing the line and no one will help him anymore or give him another chance.

reply

I think he went to a borstol where Carlin and the others are from Scum,Then when he got out then he got wrapped up in that prison cycle stuff, actually the borstol he's going to won't have the scum characters,I just wanted to say that.

reply

He would have probably have been killed within the next five years, all the skins with swassies on their heads were.

Exaclty what was predicted on the blackboard, he goest to jail, then comes out of jail and he has no job and can't get a job, with no job no money, therefore he starts thievin and stealing, then he's back in jail.

Probably my favourite sene in the film, especiailly with the confrontations between trevor and the two teachers later on.

reply

Did any one think that he might wind up along the path that the guy laid out on the chalk board? Just a thought, I didn't know if any one else had considered it.

reply

He got on his hands and knees in front of The Man and took it like a good girl.
Then he spent the rest of his miserable life in a alcoholic stupor.

"Halt mich fest ich werd verrückt"

reply

I know right? When Trevor gets angry and it's just like a closeup of his face I got chills, there was like pure fury there lol then you watch the interview and it's like.. Tim Roth is so soft spoken and polite! :D

He got sent to a detention center or prison. I think he'd just get caught in an endless cycle if I'm honest, even if he was intelligent there wasn't much going for him because he wouldn't abide by society. Are we supposed to admire him, pity him or hate him or all 3? Who knows?
