Romantic comedies are supposed to suck. That's why they're great.
Every aspect of this movie is predictable, from the mother of the bride to the cheezy co-worker who ends up being married 5 times.

Hot women and a guy who can't get them to leave him alone...

but ultimatly, lovers of the romantic comedy love them for one reason... the soliloquy

In this movie it's "even a snake deserves a second chance."

The most famous of all... "You complete me."

So please, don't be so hard on the movie, watch it for what it was made for, a guarenteed nice ending to a date.
