This was such a fun movie

I have to disagree with the reviewer. I enjoyed it immensely

It was obviously made during the "mandatory white guy" phase of the Asian film industry, hense the Dracula scene.

It wasn't even about the white guy (who's actually pretty funny as Dracula for the 15 min he's in it.) I found this to be a creepy, atmospheric, imaginative, and funny film in certain parts, with some great inventive kung-fu fight scenes and crazy stunts on top of all that. Plus it's got real life martial artist looking real good at his peak, Billy Chong at his peak, Lo Lieh) FIVE FINGERS OF DEATH) as the main villain, and Chin-Lai Sung (my fave villain from THE BUDDHIST FIST,CRYSTAL FIST and a whole bunch of other kf flicks) who pretty much steals the show as the evil, cunning and vicious kung-fu fighting magician. Surprisingly,he actually looks pretty hot in this flick---cool as hell costumes, crooked eye and all (and this is coming from someone who always thought he was unattractive.)

I also like how the film goes through the full range of supernatural beings in Chinese folklore----there's 2 kung-fu fighting demons with cone hats and wands, a**-kicking ghosts who leap 20 feet out of the air and hit the ground ready to fight, and the hopping ghosts Chong calls up to help him whip the hell out of the bad guys---that was just plain fun to watch. That being said, this is a really enjoyable film (aside from the gory scenes) with a whole lot more than you would expect in your average KF flick. I had it on a VHS tape, taped over it accidently (the label fell off) was mad as heck about it, then stumbled across a DVD of it, which I was glad to find. Worth seeing if you like whacked-out.out-of-the-way horror flicks from anywhere in the world.
