Christmas Eve viewing

Believe it or not, this was our standard fair late Christmas Eve viewing at our house. I think at least 3 or 4 years in a row, after our family Christmas eve get together at my mom and dads, my brothers, me and my husband would go back to our house and watch this movie. My nephew, who never seen it, came over, and it's more fun to watch it when someone hasn't already seen it. However, it is an aquired taste!

Even though like you said it is a acquired taste it is still a very good comedy though and it makes me laugh every time I have seen it! I remember when USA UP ALL NIGHT would show this back in the day on the USA Network on a Friday and Saturday night!

I would even go to my local mom and pop video store and rent this on VHS to crack up with this movie. They do not make movies like this anymore because it would not be Politically Correct today which I think PC is awful! It ruins everything you know.

You need a crazy movie like this to balance the sugarary sweet, Norman Rockwell-esque stuff of the season...

A few months ago, I took my vhs copy and converted it to dvd so it can live in eternity! haha

I loved watching this movie and remember watching it a lot back in the 80's and 90's. When they removed USA UP ALL NIGHT from USA Network it made it hard to see this movie at all on TV. I was looking for the sequel to Hobgoblins 2 at a Best Buy on Tuesday up in the North Suburbs of Chicago. I did not find Hobgoblins 2 but I found this movie though. I loved watching this when I was a teenager and I said to myself "I have to buy this today!"

I was glad to do that and then watched it yesterday evening. I totally loved it!

for some insane reason, I opted for this movie last night in lieu of my traditional Christmas Eve showing of The Ref and I loved it as much as I did when I was 9. I was very happy to find it on one of my random DVD scouts. still on the prowl for other 80's classics but they're either out of print, unavailable due to copyright issues, or in some places BANNED!!
