music soundtrack

The movie was excellent powerful acting and real life drama for it's time a must see movie, what i really want to know is who plays the background music such as when they are at the liquor store buying the booze that triggers the movie off and when they were in the record store great song classics but i don't know who sings them and i can't remember the listings of the bands in the ending credits.
