Is this the movie where John Ritter's character breaks up a wedding to confess his love for the woman about to be married? If not does anyone know what movie that scene occurred in?

I remember watching and liking a movie with that scene when I was a kid. The film aired on a Saturday afternoon, I remember because I was at my grandparent's house, however I thought the film would be newer than 1982 because it was the mid to late 90's when I watched it.
